What Personal Data We Collect

To fulfill your order, you must provide certain information to us:

  • Personal information such as your name, e-mail address, etc. You may also choose to provide us with additional personal information if you contact us directly.
  • Information regarding your intellectual property, e.g. book title, author name, etc.
  • Transactional data such as payment information, and the details of the product that you’re ordering.
  • Technical data, such as information about cookies, and personal data generated from technical processes such as contact forms, comments, cookies, analytics, and third party embeds.

While you visit our site, we’ll track:

  • Products you’ve viewed: we’ll use this to, for example, show you products you’ve recently viewed or similar/related products.
  • Location, IP address and browser type: we’ll use this for purposes such as estimating taxes (if any).

We’ll also use cookies to keep track of cart contents while you’re browsing our site.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

Who we share your data with

Protecting customers’ personal information is crucially important to our business and something we take very seriously. For these reasons, we share your personal information only for very limited reasons and in limited circumstances, as follows:

  • With Payment Gateways and Processors, such as PayPal and Afterpay. When processing payments, some of your data will be passed to third party agents, including information required to process or support the payment, such as the purchase total and billing information.
  • With Google Analytics. We use data for analytics and measurement to understand how our services are used and optimize product design. Data collected could be related to interaction with our site (e.g which pages are most visited), to trends in purchases, or to marketing related events such as new newsletter subscriptions. These appear as key event metrics in Analytics reports. However, your personal data is not revealed in the processing or reporting of analytic data.
  • Data relating to advertising campaigns are shared between Google Ads and Google Analytics for consistent reporting.
  • If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

How long we retain your data

We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide you with services and as otherwise described in the Privacy Policy. However, we may also be required to retain this information to comply with any legal and regulatory obligations, to resolve disputes, and to enforce or perform under our agreements. We generally keep your data for the following time period: up to five (5) years.

However, If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

Where your data is sent

Romance Cover Store may store and process your information through third-party hosting services in the US and other jurisdictions. As a result, we may transfer your personal information to a jurisdiction with data protection and government surveillance laws different from those your jurisdiction has. If we are required to transfer information about you outside of the EU, we rely on Privacy Shield as the legal basis for the transfer, as Google Cloud is Privacy Shield certified.
